OYO Knows: Challenger Program for All Ballplayers with Disabilities

The Challenger League at OYO is a special division designed to break down barriers for children and adults with mental and physical disabilities, allowing them to experience the joy of playing baseball. More than just a game, the Challenger League provides an opportunity for athletes to build self-esteem, make new friends, and be treated just like other ballplayers. We believe that every participant, no matter their background or abilities, shares the same love and determination to play the game.

OYO is proud to be one of only a few local organizations offering this unique program, ensuring that those with disabilities have the chance to be part of something special. Open to all interested players ages 4-18, the Challenger League runs during the Spring Season, with registration beginning in January and practices starting in mid-March. We can accommodate up to 24 players each season, ensuring that everyone has the chance to be part of this inclusive and rewarding experience.

At OYO, we believe every game deserves a celebration, which is why we offer treat tickets! These $1 tickets are a fun and simple way to reward players for their hard work and effort after each game. Team parents usually handle purchasing and distributing treat tickets, making it easy for kids to enjoy this special tradition.

Players can redeem their tickets at the concession stand for a treat from our special treat ticket list. It’s a small gesture that goes a long way in creating smiles, fostering camaraderie, and adding a little extra fun to the OYO experience!
