Jim DeSalle Leadership Award
The OYO Board of Directors proudly offers a seasonal recognition program to honor the spirit of leadership and service that helps make OYO such a special place—The Jim DeSalle Leadership Award.
To “Lead Like Jim” means to show up, to give back, and to lead with humility, kindness, and purpose—on and off the field.
This award will be presented twice each year—once in the Spring and once in the Fall—to celebrate coaches and umpires who lead by example and reflect the values of the OYO Way: Development. Respect. Life Lessons. Fairness. Character.

Award Nominations
Each season, the OYO Board of Directors opens the nominations process with approximately one week left in the season. Coaches may be nominated by umpires, fellow coaches, board members and/or parents. Umpires may be nominated by fellow umpires, coaches and/or board members. The nominees are reviewed by the OYO Executive Board to determine winners each season – and the awards are presented to the recipients at an OYO board meeting following the season.
This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate those who give generously of their time, guide with integrity, and lead the way Jim did—with heart and community spirit.
