OYO Ballplayers Want YOU! Will You Coach a Team?

Greetings! Starting mid-March, our teams, ballplayers and families will take the field and enjoy their first practices of the 2026 Spring Season. At OYO, this season we have been truly blessed with an incredible response from volunteers to serve as coaches. Currently, our registration numbers are outpacing 2025 registration tends by 10%. As a result, we are planning to field 95 teams this spring to create memorable experiences for nearly 1,100 ballplayers and their families.

We’ll elaborate below, but let’s get straight to the point: A division in which your ballplayer is registered is still in need of coaches. Will you consider joining the OYO coaching ranks this spring? If so, complete the online coach application today!

Coaching is a rewarding opportunity as you create memories for and with our young, aspiring and resilient ballplayers. Plus, OYO…

  • offers coaching clinics
  • pairs new coaches with a “coaching mentor” to help get started and answer questions throughout the year
  • provides player development frameworks to help you structure practices
  • recognizes your volunteerism through a coach incentive that can be applied to a future player registration fee

To date, six divisions — 08U Softball, 10U Softball, 12U Softball, Tee Ball, Rookie and Super Major — have a sufficient number of coach applications for our projected team counts. This is a wonderful situation for our players and families in those divisions. Now, we want to create the same situation for all our divisions!

Five more divisions are very close to ensuring all teams have coaches assigned before we begin the roster construction next weekend. In our 12 and Under divisions, we are seeking to fill the following coaching vacancies with incredible volunteers just like you!

So, as of February 27, our 12 and Under divisions need 3 more head coaches among the following divisions:

  • Challengers | Need 1 coach
  • Junior Rookie | Need 1 coach
  • Minor | Need 1 coach
