Let’s Play Ball! Spring Season Game Scheduling Update

This spring has been wet. The rain has been problematic. Through May 22, we have 10 scheduled game days, six of which were canceled as a result of rainy conditions or unsafe field conditions. This challenge has been non-stop, but the OYO Board also has been working non-stop for solutions. At OYO, we have followed our Rainout Policy since 2008, which traditionally has worked well each Spring and Fall season. However, when the weather wreaks as much havoc over a game schedule as we have experienced the month, we believe it is necessary to suspend the Rainout Policy for the 2026 Spring Season only based on these extenuating circumstances and maximize the opportunities for all our ballplayers to simply play ball!
 
As a result, the OYO Board — and specifically our hardworking volunteer Scheduling Committee — have executed these following changes:

  • Rescheduled Most of Opening Day Games | These games are scheduled from June 8-12 (However, Tee Ball and Challenger games are not rescheduled due to demands on players)
  • Photo Day Rescheduled to June 6 | Game times altered/pushed back, but game lengths not shortened
  • 12 and Under Rec League Tournament Remains Double-Elimination | Overall Tournament Dates run from June 12-22 (but most divisions play June 13-19)
  • Junior Baseball and 14U/16U Softball Tournament Set | Tournament will ruin from June 29-July 3
  • Rescheduled MVP Classic Games | Depending on the division, these games (formerly called All-Star Games) will be played on either Monday, June 22 or Tuesday, June 23

  • 10U | June 13-19
  • 12U | June 13-19
  • 14U/16U | June 29-July 3
  • NOTE | Tee Ball and Challenger do not participate in the tournament season, but are scheduled for games between June 13-20 and participate in a memorable Future of OYO Parade at Veterans Memorial Park following their final game on Saturday, June 20, where trophies are distributed to all players
