This year, the annual David Manlove Memorial Tournament is scheduled for Sunday, June 2, 2024. Please note, this tournament is available for baseball and softball in 2024.

 

Every spring, Oaklandon Youth Organization hosts the David Manlove Memorial Tournament, a single-day memorial tournament to raise awareness about substance abuse. We welcome five rec travel/all-star baseball teams in every baseball and softball age group to participate in this single-day tournament. Please note, 14U Softball is also open to C-level travel teams and 13U Baseball and 14U Baseball are open to A-level travel teams.

 

This tournament was started in 2002 in memory of David Manlove, who played baseball at our facility from 1990-97 but died in June 2001 from cardiac arrest caused by huffing. All proceeds from this tournament – including donated concession stand worker wages and umpire fees – are presented to The 24 Group. Now, we want to take our commitment to supporting their cause to the next level. And, we believe we can partner with the local business community -- including your company -- to make this possible. We're expanding this year's tournament fundraising to include a Tournament Sponsorship program for the first time ever. The program offers three levels -- Gold for $500, Silver for $250 and Bronze for $125 -- and your company's donation will have a profound impact on a struggling youth or adolescent through the diligent efforts by the Manlove family.

 

We will recognize your sponsorship by featuring your company's logo on the tournament website page and on banners displayed around the park showcasing all the tournament sponsors in 2024.

This tournament continues to grow each and every year. In 2024, we are prepared to accommodate 60 teams and host more than 70 games in a single day of baseball for this important and meaningful memorial tournament.
