2026 David Manlove Tournament Registration | Now Open!

It's 24 for #24. That's right, 2026 marks our 24th annual tournament in memory of our beloved #24, the jersey number sported by the late David Manlove.

 

This year, the annual David Manlove Memorial Tournament is scheduled for Sunday, May 31, 2026, for all baseball and softball teams and select lower-level full-time travel teams in older baseball and softball age groups.

 

Every spring, Oaklandon Youth Organization hosts the David Manlove Memorial Tournament, a single-day memorial tournament to raise awareness about substance abuse. Team eligibility is based as follows:

  • BASEBALL
    • 07U-12U Baseball | All-Star/Rec Travel Teams only
    • 13U-14U Baseball | A-Level Travel Teams also eligible
  • SOFTBALL*
    • 08U-12U Softball | All-Star/Rec Travel Teams only
    • 14U Softball | All-Star/Rec Travel Teams only or C-Level Travel Teams

* OYO as altered its softball age eligibility cut-off dates to align with the growing number of national softball associations, which are using September 1, 2025. That said, for the 2026 tournament only, we will accept and accommodate all teams that are still following the January 1, 2026 age cut-off for their softball program.

 

This tournament was started in 2002 in memory of David Manlove, who played baseball at our facility from 1990-97 but died in June 2001 from cardiac arrest caused by huffing. All proceeds from this tournament – including donated concession stand worker wages and umpire fees – are presented to The 24 Group. This tournament continues to grow each and every year. In 2026, we are prepared to accommodate 60 teams and host more than 70 games in a single day of baseball for this important and meaningful memorial tournament.
