What OYO Knows
Background Checks
At OYO, safety is our top priority. We are deeply committed to creating a secure and welcoming environment for all our players, families, and volunteers. One of the ways we uphold this commitment is by requiring all OYO volunteers to complete a criminal background check, now made simple with our online process.
These checks are valid for three years for coaches and two years for board members, ensuring consistent oversight. In addition, OYO Executive Board members complete a civil background check to maintain the highest standards of accountability. By taking these steps, we reinforce our promise to provide a safe and inclusive space for every member of our community.

Onsite Support
OYO Knows How to Make Your Experience Enjoyable
At OYO, we want to make sure everyone has the best experience at the park. That’s why we have our “Advisors on Duty” (AODs) available whenever games are scheduled. These volunteers – often wearing red “OYO Volunteer” shirts – are stationed around the park to assist with any questions or help you might need. You can typically find them near the concession stands or floating between the front and back fields.
For fans who may have mobility issues, we also offer golf cart transportation to the fields. Simply ask an AOD or a concession stand worker, and they will assist in getting you a ride. Please note that the carts are in high demand, so we appreciate your patience. For safety and insurance reasons, only OYO Board members are permitted to drive the carts. Let us handle the driving, and we’ll make sure you get to the fields comfortably!
Survey Feedback
OYO Knows: Your Opinion Counts via our Seasonal Feedback Surveys
At OYO, we’re dedicated to providing the best possible baseball and softball experience for our players and their families. We understand that your feedback is essential in helping us achieve this, which is why we conduct a brief survey at the end of every season. This survey allows us to assess how well we met your expectations, identify areas for improvement, and gauge what’s working well. Then, we use your feedback to make informed decisions about programming, communication and any changes we can make to enhance your experience.
What’s more, we go much broader and deeper than just individual season satisfaction surveys. We also conduct surveys annually on the following:
- Coach Evaluations
- Winter Workouts
- Special Initiatives
- Internal Board Assessment
We truly appreciate your participation, as it helps us grow and continue to provide quality experiences for all OYO families. Thank you for being part of the OYO community, and for helping us make each season better than the last!
Trunk or Treat
Get ready for a Halloween tradition that’s sure to bring our community together every year! OYO’s annual Trunk or Treat event is the perfect way to celebrate the spooky season with your fellow Spring Season and Fall Ball families. This fun, family-friendly event offers a chance to reconnect with old teammates, have a little extra fun before the rec league tournament, and make lasting memories with our OYO family.
We invite all families to join in by hosting a trunk and passing out treats to our ballplayers. The best part? There’s a trophy up for grabs for the most creative trunk! The event typically takes place in early October, so watch for more information and be sure to mark your calendars for a spooktacular good time. We can’t wait to see you there, creating a safe and fun environment for our kids to enjoy Halloween in style! Stay tuned for sign-up details and make plans to join us for this growing OYO tradition!
