OYO Knows: Volunteerism 

 

OYO doesn’t just happen, it’s a direct results of hundreds of volunteers, who make tireless contributions all year long.  

From board members to coaches, from assistant coaches to team parents, from park prep days to special projects, countless parents and supporters step up to make OYO happen. 

While concession stand workers and umpires earn a wage for their service, there is only one dedicated paid member of our leadership – our Facilities and Grounds Manager, who oversees all aspects and operations of our playing fields and park premises. 

Every other single person is a true volunteer at OYO. Let’s break it down for you our volunteer participation (and, yes, there’s some overlap in these numbers, but it is still staggering)… 

• 73 board members, including the president and all executive board members 

• 95 head coaches in the spring, 75 head coaches in the fall 

• 150 assistant coaches in the spring, 150 assistant coaches in the fall 

• 60 team parents in the spring, 50 team parents in the fall 

• 75-100 participants in various park prep day or special project activities
