Umpires

OYO Knows: How to Train Top-Notch Umpires

At OYO, we pride ourselves on maintaining a high-quality umpire program, which is essential to the success of our league. Each year, we have approximately 115 registered umpires who help keep our games fair, fun, and safe. If you’re looking for a part-time opportunity to be part of the action, we welcome individuals aged 11 or older (as of January 1) to apply and join our team of umpires.

Becoming an umpire at OYO is a rewarding experience. To get started, applicants must register online, complete the umpire exam, and attend required training clinics. First-year umpires will begin by officiating 08U Softball, Junior Rookie Baseball, and Rookie Baseball games, unless approved for a different assignment.

Our training program helps new umpires build confidence, develop leadership skills, and earn money while contributing to our baseball and softball community. Whether you’re new to umpiring or looking to improve, OYO provides a supportive environment to learn and grow.
