Rec Travel/All-Star Opportunities Available | Come Join the Bombers and Red Storm in ’23

Just like our rec league program, our all-star travel baseball and softball program is expanding in 2023, too. We now have 11 all-star teams in the works, which represents more all-star/rec travel teams in a single season than anytime in the past decade. With coaches all set and teams being formed, we just need one thing for five of these teams … a few more ballplayers!

 

For those who are new to OYO, we offer two all-star/rec travel programs — Bombers for baseball, Red Storm for softball — which offer a more competitive experience for interested ballplayers seeking additional game opportunities on Sundays during the rec league season and then in tournaments after the rec league season ends. Age group eligibility is based on your ballplayer’s date of birth — and ages are based on the player’s age as of January 1, 2023 (for softball) and April 30, 2023 (for baseball).

 

These teams are formed based on player participation at tryouts hosted at OYO. We still have four baseball teams seeking a few final players to round out their team and one softball team is launching their tryouts this weekend. And, as parents of a ballplayer between the ages of 9-12 in baseball and ages 6-8 in softball, who might be seeking even a more competitive experience throughout the season, then the rec travel/all-star program may be right for you and your ballplayer.

 

Attend the following travel teams’ next travel team practice or tryout(s). Here’s the schedule:

  • 08U Red Storm (softball) | Coach Bill Kendrick | Saturday, April 29 at 6 p.m. or Sunday, April 30 at Noon | Field 8 | open tryout
  • 09U Bombers (baseball) | Coach Branden Williams | Sunday, April 30 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. | Field 4 | seeking three more players
  • 10U Bombers (baseball) | Coach Ke Shawn Barker | Sunday, April 30 from 3-5 p.m. | Field 1 | seeking four more players
  • 11U Bombers (baseball) | Coach Erika Leary | Sunday, April 30 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. | Field 1 | seeking three more players
  • 12U Bombers (baseball) | Coach Jen Wilkinson | Sunday, April 30 from 1-3 p.m. | Field 4 | seeking five more players
