Games Canceled, Outfields and Cages Open | Tuesday, May 2

OYO Fans:

Greetings! The amount of rain endured the past four days at Veterans Memorial Park has completely saturated the fields, not only on the surface level but inches deep, too. The fields just are not quite ready for use.

So, all games are canceled and all infields are closed tonight (Tuesday, May 2). That said, teams scheduled for tonight may head to the ballpark and use the outfields only to conduct practices this evening. If you do, it is imperative you stay off the infields entirely.

And although the batting cages are open on a first come, first serve basis, there are two cage reservations for tonight that must be honored, if teams are present:

  • 5-6 p.m. | Cage C | SM-Angels
  • 6-7 p.m. | Cage B | MB-Cubs

Please know, the OYO Board shares your disappointment about tonight’s cancellation, and we anticipate better and drier weather conditions as the week progresses beginning with tomorrow’s schedule.

Once again, the OYO Weatherline by Champion’s Edge (317.767.5170) has been updated with this announcement, and the Weatherline should always be your primary source of information about game status on game days. The Weatherline is updated by 5 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. on Saturdays, when the weather or field conditions are in question.

As always, we appreciate your understanding and flexibility. And, thank you for choosing OYO as your place for baseball and softball!
