David Manlove Memorial Tournament

OYO Knows: David Manlove Memorial Tournament To Raise Funds for Raising Awareness about Substance Abuse

Each spring, the Oaklandon Youth Organization hosts the David Manlove Memorial Tournament, a single-day event dedicated to raising awareness about substance abuse. Established in 2002, this tournament honors the memory of David Manlove, an OYO player from 1990-97, who tragically passed away in 2001 due to cardiac arrest caused by huffing.

Open to All-Star and Rec Travel baseball and softball teams, with additional eligibility for A-Level and C-Level travel teams in select age groups, the tournament brings players and families together for a meaningful cause. All proceeds, including donated concession wages and umpire fees, benefit the 24 Group, an organization dedicated to supporting substance abuse prevention and recovery.
