Concessions Manager Overview

Job Description

The Oaklandon Youth Organization (OYO) is seeking a paid Concessions Manager to oversee all concession operations at Veterans Memorial Park. Responsibilities will include training and managing staff, scheduling, maintaining product inventory and daily sales reporting.

Customer Experience

  • Demonstrate and maintain excellent customer service skills, internally and externally
  • Oversee cleanliness/neatness, product quality, customer service, stand safety and food safety

Personnel

  • Hire, train and develop all management and staff for the concession stand
  • Develop and communicate staffing schedule in timely manner
  • Assist Concession Managers in preparation for daily and special event needs
  • Ensure Concession team members are following proper policies and procedures

Vendor Relations

  • Research and select sales vendors
  • Issue sales orders with product vendors

Menu/Inventory Management

  • Establish official concession stand menu, including products and pricing.
  • Maintain product inventory and verify inventory following each shipment or delivery
  • Conduct seasonal cost analysis.

Reporting/Documentation

  • Develop monthly reports for OYO Executive Committee
  • Present pre- and post-season concession stand report to OYO Board of Directors

Facility Management

  • Clean and maintain concession facilities, including restrooms, daily
  • Open and close concession stand and other key facilities at park

Fiscal Responsibility

  • Make cash deposits weekly.
  • Maintain accurate concession stand management data

Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Skills and Experience

  • Experience in food service, retail management or non-profit management preferred.
  • Prior concession stand experience a plus
  • Prior experience managing employees and vendor relationships required
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency with accounting and inventory practices
  • Ability to enforce rules and follow all established protocols and guidelines
  • Ability to resolve conflicts between patrons and employees
  • Ability to make sound and rational decisions including exercising independent judgment
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift and move concession product as necessary
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Retains fiscal accountability for revenue, expenses and cash balancing
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
  • Must be proficient in cash handling, math and organizational skills
  • Must clear a national background check

Salary

Hourly; rate commensurate with experience
