Bill Sturm Memorial Tournament

This year, the annual Bill Sturm Memorial Tournament is scheduled for July 1-5, 2020.

Oaklandon Youth Organization will host its 24th Bill Sturm Memorial Tournament, which is open to all rec travel baseball and softball teams. Full-time travel teams are not eligible, except for 16U-18U softball as well as multiple age groups between 13U-16U in baseball.

We typically average more than 70 teams during our annual five-day tournament. This tournament combines pool play and elimination games. Game minimums and fees vary by age group and sport (baseball/softball). More details will be posted by January 15, 2020, regarding this summer all-star tournament.

Founded in 1996, the Bill Sturm Memorial Tournament was started in memory of one of our founders. Bill Sturm long believed all children should be able to play youth baseball or softball regardless of their financial status. The league lost our leader suddenly to a heart attack, but his dream and spirit live on through this tournament. A portion of the proceeds from this tournament fund our general scholarship program that allows more than 50 children to play baseball or softball at OYO every year.
